I have a diverse amount of songs that I really enjoy for Christmas! Josh Groban’s “O Holy Night” is my inspirational track (then again there are a lot of wonderful versions of O Holy Night) but Josh’s version kind of rattles the soul with his vocals. I can’t forget my favorite crooner and one of my favorite artists, Dean Martin and “Baby, It’s Cold Outside“, since I was young I’ve always loved Dean’s voice.
My favorite comedy track has to be Bob River’s “The Twelve Pains of Christmas“, I don’t think there’s a time that I haven’t laughed hearing that song! “WHAT, WE HAVE NO EXTENSION CORDS“, “NOW WHY THE HELL ARE THEY BLINKING“, “ONE LIGHT GOES OUT, THEY ALL GO OUT!“, etc!! I think it kind of reminds me of my father and me with our attitude towards things not working right!

I like “Do you hear what I hear”. I think it is a ANDY WILLIAMS version but I am not sure.
I also like several different versions of sleigh ride. Some with vocals and some only instrumental. I wish I knew who they were by.
Trans Siberian Orchestra and Mannheim Steamroller christmas music are fantastic.
Feliz Navidad, by Jose Feliciano
AVE MARIA by CELINE DION
The Magic Of The Night by ENYA
Parade Of The Wooden Soldiers by HARRY CONNICK, JR
Good King Wenceslas by LOREENA MCKENNITT
Step into Christmas by Elton John

After my first night of listening I hear that some of these you are playing alreayd. You have the Bing Crosby version of “Do you hear what I hear”. I like the And Williams version better, but Bing is good too.
The Ronnettes do a nice version of Sleigh Ride too, although I don’t think it is one of the ones I was thinking of. I have to dig on this one.
I violated my Christmas rule for you NIX. Normally no Christmas music until 6 Dec. This year I have made an exception

Don’t forget the tracks I suggested from “A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector” (includes the Ronettes version of “Sleigh Ride”, sure to please Huyen!).
Also, if you really want some unusual vintage stuff along with recognizable classics from the 30s and 40s, check out the 2 CD “A Vintage Christmas Cracker“, an import from the UK. I just put one on order.

LOL .. thanks Huyen!! I actually have both versions in rotation so you’ll hear the Andy Williams version at some point as well. There’s too many classic songs with duplicate efforts like Rudolph (Ives & Autry) that I try to work in multiple versions.
I’ll check out the track RR.
